Just do it.

"Stop thinking about it and get out the art supplies," this is the memo I send myself on a regular basis.

Even if the house is messy, or I only have 30 minutes, I give myself permission to take care of me. It may not happen every day but as long as I'm painting on a regular basis I feel a whole lot better.

The Wildfire

This was taken near my house five months after the wildfire. We were evacuated for 2 months and had significant smoke damage. Thank you to the firemen, we had a home to return to.

"Redwood Retreat" in pastel was completed as a tribute to our resilliant redwoods and was gifted to an amazing neighbor on the other side of the fence.

Santa Cruz City Planning Building

I have my masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning with a passion for environmental justice. Once we had kids we decided it was best for our family to be a home mom. The balance of career and parenting, stress, and personal time is a challenge for all parents. I tip my hat to all working parents and I thank my husband for working full time for our family. Now that my youngest is 3, I am time teaching art classes part time during prechool hours and loving every moment.
